Crackdown 2 Impressions: Dead Gone By Dawn

Crackdown released way back in 2007 was a decent open world game that it's only real selling point was A, it was kind of a superpowered open world and B, it had a Halo 3 Beta Key. Besides that the game's story was dull, gameplay repetitive and parts were very, very boring. The multiplayer was a saving grace of the game because it was insane and fun and there was lots of big explosions. Oh yeah and I could pick up a car and throw it gang members. Overall the game was all about having a huge world with all the roof jumping, car throwing and giant ass explosions with co op. Crackdown 2's demo was very similar to the first game good or bad.

Doctor Who Series 5 Review: Solid With No Cracks

I like many were very, very sad when David Tennant's Tenth Doctor died and was regenerated into his newest incarnation: Matt Smith's Eleventh. Yes, comparisons could be made between the two but let's be honest every Doctor ever (hesitant of the 8th a little I guess, he's kind of the George Lazenby of the Doctors) was solid in the role. Matt Smith is no exception. Still like the Tenth Doctor took till "The Girl in the Fireplace" Matt Smith took a little time to solidify him in are hearts. For me that episode and one of the best of the season was Amy's Choice. But I'll get to that episode soon but first the main cast.

Bionic Catmando

Skynet seems to be expanding into veterinarian services, judging by Oscar the cat's bionic legs here. Not only has the guy given a cat new legs after his old ones tried dancing with a combine harvester but he also got skin and bone to accept there new metallic neighbours. Oscar seems to be doing fine judging by the fact he didn't freak out by the fact he looks like the child of a house cat and K-9. Now think about what we can add there instead of legs like interchangeable parts on a GI Joe? Guns? Springs? Rockets?

Futurama Is Back Like It Was Never Gone

Way back in 2003 Matt Groening and David X Cohen's masterpiece which was one of the funniest shows on television was cancelled by Fox beginning the short lived deaths of countless other FOX sci fi's (Firefly, Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Point Pleasant, Dollhouse). Fringe will probably be next but that's not discussion of the moment because Futurama like Family Guy except more deserving has been brought back with new episodes on Comedy Central. The newest episodes aired last night and they were great and most importantly funny as they've always been.

Top 5 Most Overlooked Games of E3 2010

E3 is a huge showing that contains dozens of developers and hundreds of games, and in that many great looking games will fall below huge franchises that may need to finally start evolving (cough Halo cough). These are the games I have read about in previews and seen their trailers and I would like to point out these games that are looking truly great and definetly worth gamers attention. So here we go:

Don't Panic It's Just A Dalek

If there's two things I love it's Doctor Who and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy media franchise. So it's great to see videos like this made:

Alpha Protocol Review: More Zeta than Alpha

I was incredibly excited for Alpha Protocol since Day One for several reasons. For one I love Obsidian for it's high pedigree of RPG development. The studio was formed  by former Fallout developers which is one of my favorite game series of all time. Obsidian has crafted great games like Neverwinter Nights 2 and KoToR 2 plus they are returning to Fallout with New Vegas this fall. So hopes were high they could take the  concept of a espionage rpg in the vein of Mass Effect and make it awesome. But unfortunatly Alpha Protocol  has come out of the oven less than finished.

Transformers War for Cybertron Multiplayer Impressions: Stronger Steel

Transformers has been a pretty shitty game franchise for all of it's gaming life (even the AVGN agrees). To be fair it's film record isn't very good either (Michael Bay for the record is 1 semi enjoyable, 1 awful) with the glaring exception of the 1986 classic. Ok maybe it isn't a classic but Generation 1 is probably the most fondly remembered 80's kids show and by far the best (TMNT is a close second) even if it is a bit cheesy. Which is why it's good to see High Moon Studios have shown themselves to have great respect for that era of Transformers in it's new game: Transformers War for Cybertron. The game has recently been released in a multiplayer demo form and it is so full of love for this franchise it's almost overwhelming.
